Great albums from one of the greatest songwriters ever with a great voice. I never knew that he was Canadian back when I was listening to him in the 70s. He writes with his heart, and soul. You feel his emotions in every song that he sings. His music exemplifies his feelings through his songs and writing.

38 years ago today came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. What a great song and even as good an LP. Gordon has a lot of good music in his catalog but this is his masterpiece. Pretty good eh?
  • One of the best albums I ever bought

Like Harper G. I think this was the 1st Gordon Lightfoot album I ever owned. I soon more more and as the years have gone by, I have gotten them all. But I play this the most.

"Summertime Dream" was the first Lightfoot album I bought back when, and it still holds up today. Besides the iconic "The Wreck of the 'Edmund Fitzgerald,' other fantastic songs include the title track, "Race Among the Ruins," "The House You Live In" and "Spanish Moss." One or two average types don't detract from the main quality of this album overall. You should catch some of Lightfoot's best writing, found here on "Summertime Dream."
